Progenity nipt gender results ever wrong?

I was told my third and final baby will be my 3rd boy. I'm really upset because I always wanted a girl and lost my last pregnancy at 20 weeks it was my only girl. Could it possibly be wrong?

Soooo not to get your hopes up but I’m in an odd situation where they told me boy but “couldn’t determine sex chromosome abnormality” and then said oh we actually can tell sex either. I went to a specialist who said because I’ve had three boys (and many pregnancies - this is my 8th - I’ve lost a bunch in there that could also be boys), I might have some stray Y chromosome floating around still and that’s what they picked up. So it’s either a) nothing and it IS a boy b) a sex chromosome abnormality or c) a mistake and it’s a girl. So basically we know nothing and are waiting for my 20wk scan 😂
All that to say, although rare, apparently the test can pick up Y chromosome and be wrong, according to my specialist!

In the same boat. My third and last baby will be another boy. Dr said the results are 99% accurate when it says boy bc it picks up the Y chromosome which would not be there if it was a girl. So essentially it really leaves human error entering the results as the main cause it would be wrong. I tried! I have a healthy baby boy coming, so I’m focusing on that.

Sorry! Only chances of it being wrong is if they told you girl because it could've picked up your chromosomes. If they say boy it's almost always accurate because you don't carry boy chromosomes as a woman 😭 if it's any consolation my 3rd and final I was told was a girl and I was praying for a boy and I still cry about it occasionally 😭😭😭
