Virtua vs cooper hospital

I live is south Jersey. My options for a high risk OB are either at Virtua in voorhees or cooper university in Camden. I was told with Virtua, I have to register first before even seeing an OB.

And I would see a regular OB about 3-4 weeks after registration then be followed by a high risk OB if needed.

Personally, I already know for fact I am high risk. And the idea of registering first before seeing any dr seems ridiculous. Though I have given the hospital my insurance info already over the phone and the register had said my insurance covers everything.

So, why would I have to go in person to register prior to even seeing anyone?

I have an appointment to register at 9 am on weds, but I also have an OB. Appointment with cooper the same day at 11am because, I feel I really need to see someone and not wait another 3 -4 weeks just to he referred to a high risk since I am high risk.

Has anyone who went through virtua have to register first before seeing a dr?

For those that have gone through cooper virtua or both, what were you experiences? I keep hearing cooper has a crap reputation anymore and virtua is where to go. And I honestly want to go with virtua right now. But I am not going to ve able to register and get back to be at the the 11am appointment that day. The register thinks I can, but I told her I am a solid hour from the hospital.
