So, my boyfriend and I are really serious, but he’s very religious and doesn’t understand my concern about this topic:

“Do you stay married to the person you love in heaven, after you die?”

He’s very religious, and I have very little experience with religion at all, but he says that in heaven all mortal relationship have served their purpose and there’s no need for them. That we’ll all just be married to Christ. He sees this as perfectly fine, but it’s given me so much grief and confusion. What is the point of marriage if not to be bonded to someone you love for eternity? Yes I realize divorce happens, but what about the relationships that last until they die? He says that we’ll most likely see and recognize each other, but that just makes me think of uncomfortable Exes. I’m sorry to bother you guys with it but I’ve been having a horrible time trying to adjust to this perspective and I need outside help...
