How do you keep hydrangeas alive for a week?

I have a bridal shower this Sunday and I had to go ahead and pick up the flowers. How do I keep them alive?

Hydrangeas are one of the few flowers that drink through their petals so. Soak them upside down in a bucket of water for half an hour (anymore n it'll turn to soggy tissue paper) then gently remove them n very gently shake the excess water off. Give them a fresh cut then place in water with floral food stem first. Keep in a cool are and voila

I’m a florist and if you cut the hydrangea at a slant and one slit down the middle of the stem about half an inch, place them in boiling hot water and let them sit you will notice them perk up in a couple hours. Once perked back up, place them in cooler no colder than 34°. When you notice them start to wilt, repeat this. A lot of people think hydrangeas don’t last, but they actually can last up to 2 weeks once cut if treated properly 😊

Honestly it’s way too early to pick up hydrangeas, you need to keep them in a fridge to have any chance of them still being nice by Sat

put them in the fridge to keep them fresh! 
i dunno how long that’ll last but that’s what they do at some  floral shops till they get picked up but they’ll die a little quicker when they start to “defrost” some 
not freezer. fridge*
