What would you do?

Br

This might turn into a long story but bare with me.

I went for a walk with my daughter at the park (few minute drive) when just as I was getting in the car to go home my husband calls. He asks if I’m home and sounds kind of panicked, I said no why? He said “no? You’re not home?” And I again said “....no we just went for a walk why what’s up?”

We have the Ring door bell and he tells me that Richie (old friend from high school, well known drug user always claiming to be clean, scam artist.... I digress) is at our house knocking and ringing the door bell. I was like wtf who is he with?! He said he didn’t know but that he was in a white car in the passenger seat.

I stay on the phone with him and take the longer way home figuring by the time I get there he’ll be gone. Nope. I kept driving around town while on the phone with my husband and he kept watching the camera. I just didn’t feel safe going home.

We don’t talk, he only knows where I live because months ago he walked by and saw me out front, if we run into each other I’m polite but he doesn’t even have my number anymore and hasn’t for years. He’s known to ask people for money for a “situation with his kids”. 99.9% sure it’s for drugs.

So I finally park at the fire station (husband works there too) and was about to go hang out there until he left but as I was about to walk in my husband said he left and from the video it looked like it was his girlfriend (who I met once) because they switched seats before driving away. They waited outside my house for 20 minutes!!!

The whole time my husband wanted to call the nonemerency number and have them check it out but call and say someone was parked in front of a hydrant (we live in a small town 😂), or have me walk over to the police station (attached to the fire station) and explain the situation to see if they could check it out. I told him just to let it go I didn’t want to start anything.

I highly doubt Richie came over to hang out, I mean his girlfriend didn’t get out of the car to come to my door lol. If this happens again I’ll probably call the cops or something but would you have called the cops in this situation? I don’t want trouble but also shouldn’t have to drive around town because I don’t feel safe, idk.

Ps- today I finally downloaded the ring app since I would’ve had 0 idea he was at the house if my husband didn’t call!
