How many daycare injuries is too many?

R

Hi lovely community!

I have not posted here in a minute, but nobody I know right now is going through the same thing so I can’t compare experiences. So, 2 weeks ago my little lady came home with a deep cut in her shin. It healed and left a deep scar on her skin. I never knew how it happened because they never told me anything about it. Then at the beginning of last week, she comes home with a burn like bruise underneath the eye. My sister picks her up sometimes so I usually don’t notice it until I’m home. This time I decided to bring it up to daycare the next morning at drop off. They said they didn’t know how she did it hit that sometimes she and another boy play rough with each other and scratch each other. Ok, literally 2 days after this I get a call from them saying she bump her head from rocking a small bookshelf really hard. When I picked her up she had a goose egg smack in the middle of the forehead and they made me sign an injury report, the first one. This was mid last week. I was worried because even though this was the first time I actually saw an injury report this was the third injury I saw within 2 weeks. My husband and I decided to chance out luck and see if we could find another daycare in the area with availability in a month. We did and that’s exciting. I let them know this morning we would be pulling her out at the end of the month. So then of course I get another call an hour ago telling me she had another bump in her eyebrow because she bump her head again. She is learning how to walk and she gets bumps and bruises at home all the time, but she is also our first baby and I don’t know what you expect or if I should be worried for the next few weeks she will be there. I feel like the teachers are not really looking out for her and I feel horrible. I just want to know how many daycare bumps is too many at this age, especially since she will be entering a new one soon and I want to know what to expect. Counting today, it’s 4 bruises within two weeks. Thank you for any feedback!
