What goes on at 12 week

Appointment.. have mine tomrrow after work! Cannot wait for 445 lol.. what does go on? Does the dr use the Doppler ? My ultra sound is scheduled for next weds :(

My 12 week was today and this was the Nuchal screening where they look for signs of Down syndrome.  So there was an ultrasound and some bloodwork.  Luckily everything is done right in my doctors office so it’s a one stop shop.  Also there was a genetic counseling component with my first baby.  But this one I just had a chat with my doc in her office, not much else.   Scheduled my next appointment for 4 weeks from now, which will be a bloodwork/regular appointment.

Most of the appointments are the same, checking in on your health, blood pressure, feeling your belly. If you’ve not had an ultrasound, they will do one. If you have, they will likely just listen via Doppler.

I had a pap, and then the Dr. listened to baby's heartbeat with the doppler and answered any questions I had.

Most likely a Doppler will be used. I had my appointment at 10 weeks and they couldn’t find the heartbeat but weren’t concerned bc baby is so little at that point. She also did a breast exam and pap (I was due for one). Other than that she just asked if I had any questions and sent me home. I didn’t even have my husband come to my doctors appointments with my first unless it was an ultrasound bc most of the appointments are the same.
