My partner and I were friends for two years before we got together. On paper and in person he’s my perfect match: you will never find a more sweet, attentive partner.

Then we started dating officially a few days ago. And it all went weird.

First he dropped me home early, and went to work and his moms for ages, and missed our plans without telling me.

Then he texted me more than 24 hours later saying he was sorry and he got in late.

I asked him to be more careful about letting me know when he needed to change plans.

Since then, almost 48 hours later, I haven’t gotten a single call or text. Nothing has been read (he has read receipts on). He’s never gone this long without talking to me, and I called to makes sure I wasn’t blocked.

Now his job is a very demanding one. He is also 14 years older than me. But he’s never been this unreliable or unreachable. And I’m really wondering how to handle it without coming off rude.

I’ve told him we need to talk and that I don’t like what’s happening....but he hasn’t read those texts yet and I got his voicemail.

I’m not understanding what’s happening. He spent two years to get to this point and now he’s ruining it.

Please help.
