What would you do?????

We are buying a house!! Yay!!! Here is the issue.... Our closing date was August 30 but now the sellers want to stretch it out until September 20. We are so excited to move in to the house BUT we do kind of know the seller and I have heard they did us a favor by accepting our offer first when other offers were coming in. We are paying $405,000 and it’s appraised at $420,000. We are totally going to give them the time BUT is it bad of us to ask them to help with closing costs now that we’re helping them out by giving them extra time or is that in super bad taste????? Is an extra $1,000 bad?????? Help!!!!
