I am. I have no family on the island. 🤷🏽‍♀️ and my closest friends - one is having a baby in Sept, one is due the same week as me as another is getting married in Nov. lol.

I’m doing my own, my mum and sister live 6 hours away. My other sister wouldn’t have a clue what to do 😂 we aren’t doing a “female only” baby shower. We are just having a BBQ “celebration of baby” for our families and closest friends. I feel like this is just as big a deal for my husband and our baby is just as much his so I want to include him and have people celebrate him too!

I threw my own gender reveal/baby shower cause I don’t have any family on island and few friends up to the task. I will say it was more of a haste than I’d like but I’m glad I did it how I wanted and got the shower instead of not having one even if that meant doing it all myself.

We hosted our own “bab-y-Q” and had male and female family and friends over for our first. We played a few games. It was a lot of fun and very sweet. We are military, people do stuff like this all the time.

I didn’t think anyone so going to through. Me a shower. They didn’t start planning it until like 28 weeks and that because I started bring it up..I had at 35 weeks.

Lots of people throw their own showers. I initially found it weird getting invited to a baby shower hosted by the couple but i got over it- it wasnt that serious.
