Not sure what he wants

My SO and I have been together 9 years. We have worked hard and were careful throughout our relationship. Lately we both (not just me) have discussed TTC. I have changed a ton of my habits to show him I'm preparing for this. He has said numerous times he is ready, we had even planned for September. But he has also slipped little "we could have kids in a couple years" comments. So here I am peak ovulation for the first time, he knows, and has completely shut me down. Multiple times today. What now?
