Litter box??

I know the risk of toxoplasmosis from cats thats why we pregnant women cant change litter boxes and i havent been, my mans been doing it, i just gotta tell him repeatedly 🙄 but he does it without complaining.  My question is sometimes ill ask him for a few days and he works 10+ hr days so hell forget sometimes. Can i wear a mask and at least scoop the litter box?? I cant stand when it starts to smell my sense of smell is so strong now

As long as you’re not eating the poop, huffing cat pee and you’re washing your hands after, you’ll be fine. I have 4 cats and 4 litter boxes.

So it's my understanding that if you have been cleaning litter boxes PRIOR to pregnancy, you have see of a chance. If you absolutely MUST clean it, you should wear gloves and a mask... do it OUTDOORS so it's well ventilated and wash your whole body after. That's what I would do. Or buy a self cleaning litterbox.

I’ve been the one to clean my litter box still only because hubby is allergic. I make sure I wear a hospital mask and gloves and to do it right before I get in the shower.

If you wear a mask and gloves you should be okay, it’s mainly if your cats are always outside or eat any meat or raw food, if they eat cat food it should be okay.
