My daughter will be one and a half on the 24th, but I don’t think I shared my birth story so here it goes.

My due date was February 15th. However that day came and went with no baby. My doctor decided to induce and my induction date was set for February 22. That night, a Thursday, my boyfriend and I arrived at the hospital at 8 o’clock. After registering and all that, we got to the room not long after. Around nine, the doctor came in and inserted cervidil. Nothing really happened until the next morning after my doctor came and removed the cervidil. I was started on pitocin not long after and was having contractions, but they were bearable. At 2:30 pm on Friday my water broke. Literally five minutes later my doctor came in with the intention of breaking my water. That’s when the contractions started to pick up and get stronger. I received some pain meds in my IV but honestly they didn’t help at all. By 10:00 that night I was at 5 cm and I decided to get the epidural. I felt soooo much better! About an hour later my doctor had me do some practice pushing. Afterwards he left the room and the nurse checked me and could feel my daughter’s head so she went get to my doctor. As soon as she left I felt the urge to push so my mom went out to get them. They came back in the room and I started to push. I literally did not feel anything at all while pushing and if it weren’t for my nurse telling to push, I wouldn’t have known when to push. In the middle of pushing my doctor said something about a csection. That motivated me to push even more and at 12:14 am on February 24th my daughter was born. I didn’t even know she was out until my mom said ‘baby’ and I look down and saw her.
