Just finding out 8 months later!!
So this is just me venting..
8 months ago I had blood drawn and a sonogram due to pain I have having on my left ovary. Never got the results... until Last week.. last week I had went to the doctor.. I had explained that I have not gotten my period since May 25th. They squeezed me in for an appointment the next day. As I’m sitting there.. my doctor comes in and asked “what has been going on” I tell her that my period is being very irregular lately. And I told her that my fiancé and I are trying to have a baby. (This pissed me off) she said we checked the sonograms you have done in November last year and we noticed some follicles on both ovaries.. and based on your symptoms we believe that you might have PCOS.. ((I’m thinking, how are you just NOW telling me this!!)) she continued.. with your missed periods and the sonograms we believe you may have it. We’re not sure how bad it is. she said “they should have checked your testosterone levels” instead of going through the whole process again.. but we will set you up with a specialist “ . We call the specialist and the secretary is being rude to me and the person helping me make the appointment. Saying she’s the only one in the office that she can’t make the appointment. She we gave her my name, birthdate and number. It’s been 7days and they still have yet to call me. The woman’s health person called to see if the specialist called and I said “no, they never called”. So the woman’s health person tries again. And here I am still waiting on a damn call from this specialist. After finding out that I might have PCOS... I cried... my love cried. All the doctor said was either it’ll be hard for me to have more children or I won’t be able to. She suggest I go on a diet and start becoming an appropriate weight. (By the way I’m obese, 235 pound to the exact) but as I was saying.. yeah, she wants me to become healthier. I’m trying, but it’s hard when you work in a fast food place and take care of a special needs kid.. what makes this harder is I’m moving at the end of the month and I have to deal with this.. what can I do? Is pcos curable? Is there medication I can take to help me?? I’m sorry this story is all over the place. Any feedback is helpful.
