Can i give my 1yr old honey for a cough?

My baby just turned a year old and she has her first cold ): she has a bad cough. I bought Zarabees cough medicine but it doesnt seem to help her at all and its also not FDA approved. Can I give her just honey? How much should i give her if I can?

My one year old just went through a bad cold and I gave her a bit of honey to suck on a teaspoon, she loved it! Also putting her in a warm shower and letting it steam up the bathroom helped clean out the snot. Plus who doesn't feel better after a nice shower? 😊
