When you found out that you’ve started your period what was your reaction?

None of the above. I started my period at 7. My parents informed me of what a period was at the age of 5. They supplied me with all kinds of books on periods and sex because I could read by the age of 3. They wanted an educated child so that when I went to school, I knew the difference between fact and fiction. 
I wasn’t shocked, I wasn’t surprised. I knew what a period was and I knew why it was happening because I was informed. Sex education also was taught 1-12 grade. 
I didn’t have any pms symptoms and I never have. I put on a pad and went on my way. I jotted down my period symbol on my calendar and kept track of it. It wasn’t a big deal. My mother bought me pads and tampons. 
It isn’t anything to be horrified about. It’s a natural process and shouldn’t be shamed. Girls and women cannot help that they have periods. Yes, I got my period young, but it wasn’t a big deal at all. It was normal, pain free, and didn’t stop me from being a child. I started using tampons at 9 because I was into sports and swimming. 
I’ve never had an issue with my period. It’s always been a breeze for me.

I was scared when I started. I was so nervous. I had " a talk " about it at school but still did not know how to use some of the feminine products so I was really scared buti got used to it I guess

I actually cried when I got my first period. I was just scared and sort of ashamed. My mom was making it seem like something that needed to be hidden from the world and I didn’t really know what to make of it.

The first time? It was almost 20 years Go (bloody hell I'm old!) But I was embarrassed. It hasn't really been explained to me so I knew what it was but didn't have a clue what I was doing and I didn't want to speak to my mum. I remember pinching a tampon from her room and of course, it wouldn't go in so I didn't know what I was going to do. 
Eventually her friend Sussed it out, and she gave me a pad and told my mum for me.

I was mostly just confused; I couldn’t figure out why my stomach hurt so badly all day and then when I saw the brown blood in my underwear I literally (tmi?) thought it was poop? Lmao. And I was like totally confused and in disbelief like did I not wipe effectively enough?!? It wasn’t until the next day that I saw the blood AGAIN and suddenly started to put the pieces together 😂

Sad. I found out right after I got home from riding my bike and I projectile vomited from the cramps I was having. It's the only time I've ever thrown up so bad. I was sitting in my kitchen and it came so fast I couldn't even make it to the garbage can and I projectile vomited all over my kitchen

surprised and excited actually, it was the week that i turned 13 and a month earlier we had a class about periods so i already knew what to expect.
