First appointment at 6 Weeks?

Some of you have mentioned that you were able to get your first prenatal appointment around 6 weeks. How were you able to do so? I am 6 weeks today and my doctor will not see me prior to 8 weeks and I am so anxious waiting for the appointment on the 23rd. This is my first child so I am very nervous and just want to get to the first appointment and see the baby and hear a heartbeat!

My first appointment is at 6 weeks because I did ivf.  I am under extra monitoring.  They want to make sure the embryo implanted in the correct location and that everything looks like it is progressing as normal.

Mine is at 6 weeks because I see a midwife at my GP office to verify pregnancy before getting referred to an OB clinic. In the states I wasn’t ever seen before 8 weeks at least

Depends on the doctor's office. I needed a new obgyn and called around to several....some wanted to see me at 8 weeks, some 6 and the one I chose saw me yesterday at 4w5d. I have an ultrasound in 2 weeks and another dr apt in 4.

Totally depends on doctor as others have said. With my first I wasn’t seen until about 10 weeks. This time, new doc (and possibly because I’m older and they just didn’t want to tell me that’s the reason) I’ll go for a dating ultrasound at 6 wks, but first OB appointment at 9 wks.

I totally feel you. I had a tubal last year with no symptoms. We didn’t know until I went in for a dating ultrasound. I tried using that as my excuse for an early ultrasound this time just so I could know the baby is in the right place, but they refuse to see me until the 29th when I’ll be 9 weeks. They said as long as I didn’t show symptoms they weren’t concerned. It’s definitely aggrevating when you just want to see your little bean and be at ease that everything is ok. Keep the faith that your baby is progressing just like it should. Keep a list of questions so when you finally go in you can get your answers. Best wishes to you!!

Mine is at 6 weeks because I took Clomid and the doctor wants to ensure everything is looking on track. We have been trying for several years so he is doing things a little earlier for us so we can also have more peace of mind knowing things look okay.

I will be about 8 weeks with my first appointment. But I won’t have an ultrasound until September 17th when I am 11 weeks. I feel ya on being nervous and just wanting that first ultrasound. The more I read up on it, the more I think it depends on your doctor, and if you are higher risk or not. Also probably depends on how hard you push for an earlier one. 😂 I don’t even get a blood test until 8 weeks.
