Cramps at work

Sarah

So my periods are pretty bad right now since I got off of hormonal birth control, they are also non-consistent with a schedule so sometimes they are much earlier than I thought. I also have been getting diarrhea which is new for me so the cramps are immobilizing. 😫

I am at work right now, currently feeling like death and I wanted to share some tips while also hoping to gain some news ones.

* Ps. I am seeing a naturopath trying to get my body balanced and today my period is a week early so I was unprepared. I also stay away from prescriptions and medications because they usually make me sick.

My tips:

1. Make hot tea (peppermint, ginger, and raspberry leaf are great!) and if your pants are thick enough, hold it against your tummy as a heating source of sorts. Feels wonderful and then the tea helps.

2. Drink a lot more water, helps bloating, cleanses you out and hydration is key for contracting muscles. Your body is working hard.

3. Bring oils with you to rub on your tummy. You can use lavender, grapefruit and peppermint while also using a diluted oil like coconut or grape seed in case it’s not skin safe. I really wish I had these right now.

4. If you can, do some chair or standing up yoga stretches. Helps back pain a lot.

5. Go to the bathroom and cry it out if you need. Always makes me feel better.

Now just counting down the minutes till I get to go home and get comfy ☺️ What do you do to cope at work?

Pop a couple Aleve and bring a heating pad to work which I continually rotate from my back to my stomach.

I have the mirena iud. My periods are so heavy i bleed thru an ultra tampon, largest made, in 3 hours flat every 3 hours for 7 days straight. I usually wear an overnight pad at the same time otherwise i leak. My cramps are so bad that day 1 and 2 out of 7 i am on my bed crying with a heating pad even after taking the max amount of pain killers throughout the day. Ive tried every over the counter pain med and even some prescription ones and nothing holds off the pain. I have to call out of work my first 2 days. Mirena is the only thing that has helped me. I really wish i was light enough to even try natural remedies but my periods have been like this since i got them when i was 11 and im almost 30. I throw up every period and have to get up in the middle of the night to change tampons because i bleed thru. Ive seen 3 doctors they all said this is normal but its not. Im pretty sure i have endometriosis but no one will test me for it. Mirena works for me ive stopped having periods and i love it. I plan to use it until menopause.
