Hi there! I just started on the pill for the first time and I had a few questions!

I am 21, and just started taking the pill to help ease super painful periods.

Also, to reduce risk of pregnancy because me and my boyfriend both do not want to have kids. Woo! Added bonus.

I was prescribed the combination pill Blisovi Fe 1/20 on August 8th 2019, which is (obviously) when I first started taking it. However, this was also in the middle of my cycle, during my "fertile window", according to <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.glow.android.eve">Eve</a>.

I was just curious how long I should wait before having unprotected sex since I did not start the pill during my Period.

My doctor said 2 weeks was safe, but other sources say to use extra protection for the first month. I'll admit, I was excited at the prospect of two weeks because I get to spend the weekend with my BF a little after the two week mark. But I want to make sure we're safe and didn't know if I should just wait for the month or not.

What do you think? Any personal experience for either side?
