SAVE SOME MONEY DURING CHILD BIRTH
I work in a hospital, and I'm going to fill moms in on something they most likely don't all know. Theres a test we run on your babys blood after birth that checks for STDs. If the mother had prenatal care throughout the pregnancy, this test is irrelevant because her blood has already been checked. When you are checked in, we also take your blood and run it again for STDs. Moms dont know that we run the same test on their baby after birth, and it tracks anywhere from 300-500 onto your bill. It's not necessary, but since you don't know about it you don't know to refuse it and it's an easy way to make money. There are blood tests on your baby that will be run that need to happen, but that one does not, unless you had no prenatal care or are positive for an STD already.
