Tips for Getting Responses

Kathleen

This is just my two cents but:

1. Never post a blue dye test, unless you just want people to tell you to get a pink one.

2. Use a poll with clear choices in this order: Positive Negative. This makes it faster for people to vote, doesn't confuse people with your choices, avoids redundant choices and is less annoying. Doing them in an uncommon order could cause people to choose the wrong answer by accident out of habit.

3. Usually if a poll has half positive responses, that's a good sign that there may be something and you should test again the next day. You're never going to get 100% yeses from people unless it's clearly positive, posting which is against the rules and makes you an asshole.

4. If you're going to post the negative of an image, post the original, untweaked, first.

5. Don't title posts things like "is this an indent" and then give answer choices like yes no vvvfl maybe poll baby dust. Am I answering that Yes, it's an indent, yes it's a positive? Try titling your post "Input Appreciated!" Then use the answers from #2 above to avoid confusion.

What advice would you give new posters?
