Is this safe?

My baby boy favors one side of his head and its causing his head to get a flat spot. I've been trying to turn his head when hes sleeping but he just turns it right back. So today I rolled up a swaddle and put it under his head, but I'm worried its not safe to have it in there with him. I am watching him but I wouldn't want to do this over night right?

I wouldn’t suggest overnight. But if you keep an eye on him during the day, I’d say it’s fine!

My son was similar and had flat head on one side . My pediatrician said it was ok to buy him a flat head pillow and it worked fine .

It’s fine while you’re watching him. My son favored one side because he had a tight muscle in one side of his neck from the way he laid in the womb, so everyday for 10 minutes or so I’d slowly turn his head the way he didn’t like, and kinda hold it for 15 seconds at a time, he’d cry because it irritated him, but we’d do it probably 3-4 times a day, and we’d also only put interesting things or only stand on the side he hated so he’d have to face that way. Eventually it sorted itself out and his flat spot went away. It also helps to have them not laying as much as possible, so if you have a walker or one of those jumper things and he’s big enough for them you should put him in those often, it helps get rid of flat spots too.
