I think it’s my birth control...

Weird period. I got on birth control in May and ever since then I have a period every other week. I’m on the pill and I take it every morning at the same time. Is the dose to strong? My period will start w red spotting for two days then heavy cramps and heavy period for 5 days the s stop for 4 and come back again
