"Chunky Monkey"
So 😒🙄
I just got home from our local children's museum with my 3yo and 4mo. While there I got scolded, ha, for calling my youngest a "chunky monkey".
My kids are 25% black and 75% white. (I'm half and half, dad is white).
I started calling my youngest that like a month ago since she's twice the size my first was at her age.
Anyways, the lady had already been through the normal questions asking if they were my kids and what not. My youngest had started to get a little fussy, so I was bouncing her and just playing with her, she always smiles when I call her "chunky monkey" lol. Well of course the lady acts shocked and goes on to give me a history about "blacks and monkeys" 🙄. I let her know I knew all about it but thanks for the lecture, but she was taking baby talk too seriously.
But in your opinion was it overreacting? Or is my "nickname" for my baby insensitive?
