I lost my curls???? 😭

Hi everyone! Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if you’ve been able to do anything to change it! I used to have pretty curly hair starting from puberty (I’m 23 now), but over the last year my hair has been less and less curly ☹️ I thought it might have a lot to do with me moving from KY where it’s humid to LA where it’s dry, but even when I was in KY last month my curls didn’t come back. I haven’t been pregnant or anything (I have been on the pill for about 3 yrs, not sure if that can affect it?), and I have lightened it a little, but in the past I had lightened it several times more drastically than this and it never lost its curl. I haven’t changed the way I’ve treated it & almost never heat style. If anyone has any product recommendations or anything let me know; I miss my hair!!

Have you changed anything in your hair routine? Do you use products with sulfates, parabens, pthalates etc? Do you ever chemically treat your hair or use heat to straighten, curl or even blow dry it? Have you tried different methods of styling, like finger curling to retrain the curls? Is your hair getting the right protein and moisture levels for your hair type and considering the climate? Do you check the dew point and which products to use? 
There’s so many things that can damage your curls and cause them to lose their shape etc. If you haven’t already, look into the Curly Girl Method. There’s also some great CG blogs on Instagram who have gone through amazing curl transformations and can rec some good products and help you a bit more.

I used to use a lot of gel in my hair, dye my hair,  and I used to also straighten it and use heat to my hair a lot. It absolutely KILLED my curls. I got my curls back by washing my hair every 2-3 days, no harsh or heavy hair products, and no heat and no dye. I use a simple curl hydration cream now and my girls are back to normal! Took my about 6 months. Also, scrunching your hair helps too.

I used to have curly hair. Ive always kept is short, now that it’s growing out, its just straight and frizzy. Your curl pattern does change.

I would try a clarifying shampoo and a deep conditioning treatment. You could have hard water build up on your hair and that’s affecting it. Or if you’re in chorine at all that can change your hair. The it’s a 10 miracle mask is my favorite. And Paul Mitchell shampoo three removes build up from hair. The clarifier would be like 1-2 times a month only. Curls love moisture so I’d use a leave in conditioner after every time you wash it. The it’s a 10 leave in is also my favorite. And just comb it when it’s wet and leave it to air dry or use a diffuser. Don’t brush or comb when it’s dry. You could add a light serum after it’s dry to tame frizz!

Organi grow!!!! My oldest daughter has curly red hair and this helps keep them beautiful!!! She's 9, hair is past her butt when wet. So it's pretty springy

You should try adding a daily vitamin, maybe a prenatal or just a hair/skin/nail one. I'd stop dying your hair and cut out all of the chemicals you may be using. 
My favorite hair products are by Carol's daughter, they don't contain any chemicals or sulfates. Don't shampoo your hair as frequently, let the oils build up a bit before shampooing. 
You could try doing braided styles at night before you go to bed, when you wake up you can just take your hair down and you'll have more curl. 
I love design essentials honey curl forming custard. I wouldn't over use this though and I'd cut out all other products besides maybe coconut oil if you use that.  After a shower you can use this custard and scrunch it up into your hair if that makes sense.. should help bring out natural curl. You could use it when you braid it as well. Don't brush it, use a hair pick or wide comb. I'd only brush before a wash or condition. 
Other than that you can start doing natural hair masks every other week or so to see if it helps bring back some curl.

I have lost my curls in the past, and the biggest tip I can give is MOISTURIZE. Curly hair, at least in my experience, is more dry so condition it a ton. Whenever you think that it has enough, whether it be oils or leave in conditioner, double it 😂 just let it really soak in. It will take time, but it worked for me.

Get aphrogee 2 step treatment. It will bring your curls back. I used it on my daughter and her curls went from limp to spiral, bouncy, and her hair is much more fuller.

I would recommend a nice healthy chop enough to cut off some of the weight that’s what it could be it if there is any damage to the ends and hat could help
