Ingrowns

Ingrowns piss me off. When I was younger I dry shaved with a razor and from then on out I’ve always had the worst ingrown hairs. It was embarrassing to shave and see dark spots where it was once so smooth... sometimes they hurt.. sometimes they’re big... sometimes they only come in certain areas. I have not 100% tried waxing. I have a home wax kit and did my under my arms and got ingrowns but I’ve never gotten them under my arms from shaving. I want to try it but I’m scared I’ll just scar my whole area all over again if I get professionally waxed and I break out. I exfoliate regularly sometimes I can control the 1 or 2 that pop up near my lips but on the top they’re inevitable... does anyone else have this problem? Or any suggestions? I really want to go bald and want the spots to fade
