i got my nose pierced on july 21st. i got it changed to a longer bar because the piercing was sinking. it was healing well until a week ago & i noticed the bump. should i do the aspirin paste thing or is that bad for the piercing?

Don’t do the aspirin paste. While it works for a lot of people it will dry out your piercing and cause more issues. Do hot sea salt and water soaks, 1/4 cup of non iodized seal salt to every 1 cup of water, this way the salt will not dry out your skin and cause irritation. That should work but if not try tea tree oil diluted with water. If you put tea tree oil directly on your skin it will also dry it out as it is very harsh.

Do a sea salt paste. Sea salt with warm water will help SO much. And don’t forget to regularly clean with non-scented antibacterial hand soap as well!

I got the bump on the back of my helix and tried the aspirin paste for almost 3 weeks with no change so I tried the hot sea salt soaks and nothing either. Mine went away after I switched to cleaning it with non scented antibacterial hand soap twice a day and put diluted tea tree oil on it once a day, mine went away within 3 days! Doesn’t work for everyone but I know now days everyone says don’t use tea tree oil because it dries out (and it does for most people) but that’s what needs to happen sometimes to heal it.
