How long should a baby sleep in parents bedroom?

That said, each family has their own unique circumstances and sometimes what’s best for one family isn’t right for another.

My first slept in our room until he was 8 months old. We then made the transition to his crib in his room. We just waited until he was sleeping through the night and also when I felt comfortable with him being in his own room.

We moved our youngest out at 18 months, but I have trouble sleeping without him nearby.  I usually go snuggle him in his bed sometime around 1-3am and just stay there until morning.

I read an interesting study that suggested 4 months. Its reasoning was it found that longer than that didnt have a huge benefit and in the study group it was seriously affecting the parents sleep still. So they concluded it was better for parents to be well rested, where they can then make good decisions the rest of the day than to get the small benefit of baby sleeping in thier room past 4 months. That said, my lo is 4.5 and he's still in our room :) I'm not ready yet personally, I'm thinking probably 6 months but we shall see!

I'm gonna move mine sometime after 6 months, he is able to sleep in his cot on his own and has done before due to heatwave but for now I feel more comfortable having him in his bassinet beside me, he's 5 months

Every child isn’t gonna sleep in their own room until like 3 or 4 my son slept with me and my hubby sense he was born. Now I gotta try to break him from that habit from sleeping with us it’s gonna he hard
