Cradle cap

I have been trying to get rid of this for weeks now. About 30minutes before her bath (every other day) I massage coconut oil into her scalp and let it sit, then I brush her scalp then bathe her and shampoo it out. Then I brush her scalp/hair again.

Is this supposed to take this long to clear up? Is there something else I can do? Thanks.

There is some research to suggest over bathing can lead to cradle cap. It might be worth a shot to see if it helps to try washing your LO’s hair less

There is a shampoo for it. Just google cradle cap shampoo and it will come right up. Starts with a m I think. It works great. My daughter had it very bad and it was gone in like 2 weeks or less with the shampoo.

It also never came back after it cleared up the first time

I took it off my LO by using coconut oil and with a somewhat firm bristle baby brush (comb works too) I would brush gently in circular motion while he napped in my arms. The first time I brushed for like 30 minutes, I would brush and add more oil as I went, and got most of it off. LO didn’t mind it at all, I suggest that method it should all come off.

After I massaged oil in to it, I would very gently pick it with my nails. Only the ones that easily came off. Don't be afraid to use a little more force than brushing. It wouldn't budge with just brushing. I used grapeseed oil, but oiler than coconut oil.
