Anyone having short cervix at 20 weeks diagnosed?

My cervix length decreased from 3.5 cm to 2.9 cm in a week in 20 week of pregnancy.Is it a sign of worry if cervix is closed.Doc suggested progestron but I am really worried of pre term birth

Did they discuss placing a cerclage ?

I went from 3.8cm at 18wk1day
To 2.5cm at 19wks 
I am high risk of preterm birth (4/5 of my pregnancies ended in preterm birth)
Was measurement done via vagina ultrasound? It’s does make difference in measurement vs abdominal cervical length
