Ask for Beta hcg bloods?

I am going to the hospital later to get blood work done as I’ve been having heart palpitations/shortness of breath. I am still a week out from my period, do you think I can ask them to check my hcg levels too? I have a feeling this might be why I am having these problems. I’m in the UK as well if anyone can help 🌟

Just from experience I had a Pap smear appt with my dr 4 days before my period was due and I chose not to do a blood test and requested one to be done 4 days after my missed period because I didn’t want the stress of a negative test or really low hcg levels before I missed my period
