Is it possible to be pregnant but still get a period?
I know this question gets asked a lot, but I’m genuinely curious now that I’m in this position. Last night I took a pregnancy test, and it was a very faint positive. The line showed as soon as the urine touched the test lol. Well this morning around 10am, I felt light cramps on my lower back. Now keep in mind that I’ve been having light cramps on and off for a couple of weeks, but they were barely there. But this morning, it felt more like pressure. Well when I went to go pee, there was blood on the toilet paper. It was bright red, and I for sure like.. “must have been a false positive then. Well, a couple hours later my friend told me to still take the other test that I had left in the box. So I did... still a faint positive. The bleeding had gotten a bit heavier, but still not enough to fill up a whole pad in a day. I’m just taking it for my normal period even though it’s not my typical first day heaviness. I hope I’m making sense...
Anyway, I just wanted someone’s opinion. I called the hospital and spoke to an RN, and she told me that it’s not typical for someone to have a period while pregnant, but there are the rare people who do.. so she didn’t want to give me a yes or no answer. She told me to take another test Thursday morning and if it was positive, get a blood test done. But to also keep an eye on the bleeding and if it gets heavier and the cramps get worse, see a doctor anyway just to make sure.
What is your opinion? Could I be pregnant?
