My daughter is 3 months old and has been exclusively breastfed since she was born. The issue is, she has a major top lip tie. Since she was born, Iāve had cracked and bleeding nipples. No nipple cream helps at all. It hurts so bad to feed her. We have an appointment tomorrow to possibly get her lip tie cut. If they deem it ānecessaryā (weāve seen 2 doctors already who havenāt) sheās gaining weight fine but she has a really hard time latching because of it and gets very frustrated. Iāve begun pumping and giving her a few bottles a day to see if it would help to heal things a bit and it hasnāt at all. I just donāt know what to do anymore. Iām not the kind of person to give up at all. I breastfed my first for 13 months and really wanted to do the same for her. I donāt have time to exclusively pump, itās just not an option for my family and I really donāt want to use formula. Thereās nothing wrong with formula, I just prefer my own milk for my kids and itās much more cost effective. Does anyone have any tips to try and keep my nipples healed?
We used a shield in the beginning and she wonāt take it anymore. Iāve tried and still try almost every time she feeds ā¹ļø she just wonāt take it
