IUD String changing length?

Is it normal for IUD strings to change length slightly throughout ones cycle?

I just had mine inserted on the 1st, and a few days later I ventured to feel for the strings (maybe 1.25-1.5” guesstimate). I just felt for them again, and they only seem like .75”?

I’m still bleeding/spotting since insertion, but the flows gotten a bit heavier the past couple days. Like it switched from spotting to a light period, but at the same time been stopping entirely in the evening, so I’m a bit confused.

I’ll call my doc for an appt if need be, but I don’t want to bother them if I’m worrying about nothing.
