Can you have unprotected sex on the pill?

My boyfriend and I are considering trying it. I take the pill every day I never miss one ever. I’m also not on any antibiotics recently. I don’t want to get pregnant but as long as I take it, is there any risk?

Technically there’s always a risk. But if you take them correctly you’re 99% in the clear. You’ll be fine.

If you've been taking it on time for more than a week (we waited like 3 months but we were just being cautious lol), you're good. Just keep up with taking it at the same time and read the pamphlet that comes with it in case you miss a pill or something

It’s rare but people do have babies on birth control sometimes. Also it doesn’t protect against stds or infections so there’s that to think about also. But if you take it correctly I think birth control is like 98-99% effective.

From pregnancy yes but not sexually transmitted disease you should both be tested first.

You have an 8% chance of getting pregnant. There's always a risk. But condoms protect you from STDs/STIs, so unless you've both recently been tested and come back clean, keep using the condom.
