Nexplanon removal and TTC

I just got my Nexplanon taken out 5 days ago, three days after the removal I started ‘spotting browish which turned into red/dark red blood, which I only really notice when I wipe, but I’m cramping to. Would this be my first period off birth control or is this just a ‘withdrawal bleed’ from nexplanon being removed?? I’m wondering how I should log this as I’m trying to track my cycles!!! We are TTC.

I got my nexplanon out june 28th after having it for 2yrsI got a positive ovulation test 2 days after. I had very light withdrawal bleeding but I got pregnant! I’m now 7 weeks. Best thing you can do is track your ovulation. Baby dust! Keep in mind it can take up to 3 months for most woman to go back to a normal cycle after removal

I forgot to add that you can count that as a period. The 2 days of light bleeding I had is what my dr calculated my due date from.

It’s what most people would call the “withdrawal” period like you said. I had something similar after coming off of Nexplanon 5 years ago. I didn’t get a “real” period for a couple of months. But I also didn’t get a single period for the entire 9 months that I had it implanted, so that might have been the severe hormonal imbalance it caused me to have. Don’t stress it if you don’t get a normal period in the next month or two. Your body is learning to regulate itself again. Track your symptoms instead of your bleeding. Track any headaches, nausea, cramps, etc and see if there’s any patterns. If you’re concerned about anything, reach out to your doctor. They know the science behind what’s going on after birth control better than any of us do ❤️And good luck!
