Growth scan?

Is this common to have done, I’ve seen so many women mention they’re getting their growth scans done. 33w and my doctor has not mentioned another ultrasound, last one done at 23 weeks

It's not standard. Its just an extra precaution for babies measuring extra large, small, have not shown any changes in growth over a given period of time, or women with high risk for IUGR. Some OBs may offer it for all patients, but insurance may not cover it if there is not a medical need for it.

This is my third baby and I only had extra growth scans with my first because he was trending 2 weeks ahead (and I was a 10lb12oz baby myself)

I have multiple growth scans and bpp scans due to having IUGR with 2/3 of my previous pregnancies and now #4 I have IUGR again. He’s measuring 3-4 weeks behind and might have to induce early bc he keeps failing NSTs

I asked for one and i was given and going next week for one.

I didn’t have any with my first. This time the doctor has been monitoring size because my first baby had shoulder dystocia and was only 8.13 so it’s likely to happen again for me so they wanna keep an eye on his size

I got a growth scan just because with my first. 
My second, I had so many ultrasounds for other reasons they weren’t going to do the growth scan. But then my OB was worried about the babies size so I had my growth scan today at 35+5.

I had one today. Not sure why? Doctor didn’t explain beforehand but baby is measuring right on and I have been told everything looks good.

I only had one because my fundal height was measuring behind. My doctor doesn't do them unless there's a specific reason to.

Only got one for my son due to having GD. Not every pregnancy requires one.

My doc did one at 34 weeks because I have high blood pressure, which can affect growth. She wouldn’t have done one otherwise. He was measuring a perfect size so she hasn’t done another one.
