Sip and see?

Has anyone ever done a sip and see? Where after the baby is born it’s like a little cocktail party type thing and people get to come see the baby and hangout. We aren’t doing a baby shower for our last baby and my mom suggested a sip and see. Good idea or bad? It would be a few weeks after she was here

WE DID!!!! We didn’t have a baby shower. We had a sip and see and she was 7w old! It was so much fun. It was lemonade and moscato themed lol we had cupcakes, sweets, meatballs, sandwiches, beer, wine and yellow and pink decor and we had a cigar hangout on the back deck for the men and they had a mini diaper party for daddy. 
It was so much fun! It was a 3 hour party. She slept the whole time haha. I had a c section and we still had the party but I felt great like a week post op

That's tough. After I had my first, I had a tonne of energy and wanted to show my daughter off for about two weeks and then the exhaustion set in. I know many people who were worried about germs also, so that many people near your baby or in your house may be overwhelming. At the end of the day, though, it's about what you can handle!

My husband planned one when our son was 3 weeks for this week (now 6 weeks) 
At the time I thought “it’s ok we will be more in sync by then- now that it’s days away I’m dreading it. We are still using a nipple shield so I can’t breast feed in public and he’s being very fussy this week .. 
everyone is different and every newborn is different. 
My advice would be maybe plan it for 10-12 weeks ?
