How did you overcome SIDS paranoia?

My baby is 10 days old and today I found myself very paranoid about sids. How did you overcome your paranoia?

Just don’t put any blankets or toys in the crib.

Well if u place a fan in the room it will help circulate the air to which it helps them to take a breath. Dont have to put it In front of baby just somewhere in the room, I've done it with both of my kids since the day they came home and that helped me out alot. Plus a nurse told that it helps prevent SIDS

I was super paranoid about this when I had my daughter..I honestly kept her in a bassinet beside the bed and would check on her all the time like if I got up or heard a noise i would check on her 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s ok to be paranoid. Keep them in your room, try not to cosleep when they’re really little to avoid rolling on them in your sleep. Put their bassinet right beside your bed and have circulating air. Don’t use a blanket when they’re really little so they don’t accidentally suffocate themselves. We used swaddles and then the blanket swaddles also when it was colder. 
Everyone has their own opinion-this is just what we did for our first born.

i actually didnt ... my son is 2 months old and i check over every 30 mins to see if hes still moving or breathing . ima first time mom at 19 so .

Back sleeping, fan on, not too hot/cold, swaddling and nothing in the crib with our baby girl but we also got a Snuza for piece of mind. I know they say gear doesn’t do anything but I was so worried about it and the snuza, even if it is placebo effect, helped me sleep better.

I just didn't allow myself to think about the possibility and checked often. By the time my son was 5 months we moved him to his own room/crib and I was pretty much over it all together at that point.
