How do they determine csection date?

STM, with placenta previa this go round, I have to have a c section or it’s likely to kill me and the baby. Still worrisome as both ways severe bleeding is going to occur. Just curious how they determine a date ? How far along, etc. Thank you ☺️

I’m in Scotland uk and I’ve to get a c section too. They leave you here till 39 weeks unless they need to get you in earlier for any reason. X

My daughter was breech so we had to have a c section. My doctor just was like “you wanna have your baby on this day?” And we said yeah and she scheduled it lol she told me they don’t do anything earlier than 39 weeks unless 100% necessary. I had my daughter at 39+1

It really depends if you have any other reason to deliver. But sometimes the placenta previa corrects itself so they will look at that. And then set a date around 39-40weeks. Unless you go into labor earlier.
