I’m the oldest of five, and my husband is the second oldest in his family but his older brother checked out for the majority of his childhood so he jconsiders himself the oldest in many ways.

Do you think your birth order effects your personality or tendencies in how you interact with others?

For example I am six years older than the next sibling in line, I feel more maternal towards my sibling than a big sister because I took care of them 80% of the time (parents are divorced from an early age). I’ve noticed some of my friends who were not the oldest don’t feel as compelled to oversee, or take on an authoritative role as a child who was born first. I hope this is making sense, basically does birth order effect how we behave in society/ personal relationships?
