okay so i’m 17 & my boyfriend is 18 & we’ve been together for a year & a half as of last thursday. we’ve been sexually active since october, & we always use condoms. i still get nervous though because i know condoms aren’t 100% effective & it would make me feel a lot safer if i was on birth control at the same time, right? well here’s my problem:

my parents won’t allow me to be on birth control. i brought it up to my mom a few months before i lost my virginity because i had been having periods that lasted for like 17 days & i knew that birth control could be used to regulate periods so i figured i could tell her it was for that but then i would also have it for when i started having sex. but my mom basically told me that at my age i shouldn’t need to control any birth (sorry for the weird phrasing lmao) so i shouldn’t need it for that & my period would regulate eventually so she wasn’t getting it for me

my sister is 25 & she’s my best friend & i tell her everything, even me having sex, so i talked to her about it & she said she could take me to a planned parenthood or something & get me on the pill without my mom knowing. but i was wondering if there’s any way i can get the nexplanon implant in my arm instead of the pill but still without my parent’s knowing? like is the pill the only form of BC i can get without parental consent?

i don’t know if it matters or if there’s different rules in different places but i live in oklahoma
