Period or implantation?

I am on birth control pills so never really have a heavy period but I am only bleeding brown blood with clots, and when I wipe it is dark red with clots? Not enough to fill a pad.. is this normal? Should I be worried that I’m pregnant?

This happens to me as well. I’m always worried that I could be pregnant and it’s implantation bleeding but that hasn’t been the case once. I’m not exactly sure what causes the brown blood i’m pretty sure it’s old blood but birth control does cause a higher risk for blood clots. A way to differ it from being your period or implantation bleeding is your cramps. If the cramps aren’t as bad and don’t happen as often as period cramps then it’s implantation bleeding. Another way is how long it lasts because implantation bleeding only should last a day or two. From my personal experience i think you’re fine but if you’re really worried about it i would take a pregnancy test just to be safe.
