Only 3oz max per pump-mini rant

I only get 3 oz max per pump and that's rare. On average 2oz. I am already taking fenugreek and upped my dosage from 2 to 3 pills 3 times a day. I drink water all the time but nothing seems to help my supply increase. I recently got a double pump as a gift and have ordered the tubing etc so i can use it. I hope this will help. My little one, currently 4 weeks old, drinks 4oz a feeding, so i have to supplement with formula which is not the end of the world but still not how i want to feed baby...

I had to supplement and use mainly formula for about 2 months. Fenugreek and thrush killed my supply and I had to really work to get it back up. Just keep at it! I'm now where I make about 30oz in a day and that's a big difference from the total of 6oz (or less) a day I was producing for so long . Facebook has a group "exclusively pumping mom's private group" that can actually be very helpful. I pump every 2-3 hours and do power pumps. I stopped all supplements and just eat good foods and try to stay well hydrated and then mine started to go up. Supplements work differently for everyone though.

It can. and unfortunately it did for me along with every other supplement I tried.

a single pump would definitely make power pumping difficult. it's difficult enough to squeeze in with a double

How many times a day are you pumping? Try also to eat a lot of high protein foods...I eat a ton of yogurt since it's quick and easy. Look into taking lactation postnatal vitamins ... I take Thera Natal lactation. Hope that helps !

I will try eating more yogurt... I don't really like yogurt.

I would pump about every 3 hours. I will look into that post natal. I currently take materna and drink milk or yogurt once a day. I am starting to set a more defined pumping schedule. Thank you!
