Got my first iud ever. The Mirena. Insertion was on the 6th. Spotted the whole rest of that day after it got placed.

Then didn't bleed for a few days. Had sex and it spotted and then bled heavily for the following two days. I've read that iuds can cause an odor for some women. And it has for me. It's the worst smell I have smelled coming from my own body. Shower daily and I'm worried it's a permanent thing.

How long did you spot or bleed for after you got an iud?

Did anything help with the odor? I don't want to have to get it taken out because that would mean going back to the pill.
