Thirdhand smoke
I posted my list of “newborn rules” on Facebook last night which includes one about not visiting if you have cigarette smoke residue on yourself or your clothes. I feel very strongly about this as there’s a lot of research about how thirdhand smoke is not good for babies.
My mother sent me a message early this morning saying she was “embarrassed” by my post and that she guesses she won’t see her first grandchild until Christmas.
I responded that she could just not smoke before visiting and ensure she’s wearing clean clothes. I also said we won’t jeopardize the health of our baby to please anyone. She’s not reacting well.
Has anyone else experienced similar?
