Amitriptyline does anyone take this?

If so what did they prescribe it for and how has this medicine effected you? Positive or negatively?

I took a low dose for insomnia. It helped me from the first dose. I fell asleep quickly and slept all night. It helped me turn my brain off at night. I had to stop it with pregnancy and now breastfeeding. I am looking forward to when I can take it again.  If you are new to it I would take it at night and start on a night that you don't have anything the next day.  That way if you sleep later than normal you wont be late for anything. It also made me a little dizzier than normal - I was taking an adult beginner ballet class the first time I took it and struggled with turns (I'm as graceful as an elephant, but it was fun)

It is a nerve medication and is for treating anxiety and depression but because of the ability to block central nerve pain it’s so prescribed for chronic back pain. Horrible drug, makes you so sleepy, makes you not feel any emotion at all, I stopped taking this for my back when I found out why the side effects was so bad x

I took that for less than a week. It made me incredibly suicidal within 2 days, and I felt completely disconnected the whole time I was taking it.

It knocked me and my friend out out for 3 days swear to God dont take that unless emergency
