September Baby now August Baby :)
Due September 5th born August 10th at 36 weeks after days of back labor and practice contractions. Lost my plug and had the bloody show the morning before he was born. Contractions started at 1pm and were 20 minutes apart and only got more intense and closer together as the day progressed. That night I went to the hospital at 4:30 am after my back labor contractions were 2-4 minutes apart and 1:30 seconds long. I thought for sure I would be sent home as I could talk and walk through my contractions (even later on at 6cm dilated) but being 36 weeks, they were too consistent and intense not to ignore. I was trying to hold out until my appointment on Tuesday but that didn’t work out Hahaha!
At the hospital:
4:30am- 3cm and 80% effaced
5:30am- 4cm and 90% effaced
6:30am- after walking in labor and delivery for an hour I was 5cm.
I was admitted given the epidural at 6cm dilated. I honestly could have gone without it but I wanted to really enjoy the entire labor process.
At 1pm the nurse checked and I was 10cm and baby’s head was right there! I waited to push for the doctor to arrive and after 15 minutes of pushing he was here! I only needed on stitch for a small tear. My epidural wore off an hour after delivery. We stayed 48 hours for the strep B test cause I had not gotten it yet ( hence Tuesday’s regular appointment :p) All was clear and now we are home!
I was told I was going to have a big baby (88th percentile) that wouldn’t hardly use newborn clothes to an early and tiny baby that only fits premie clothes! How crazy!
Colton- 5lbs. 15oz. 18 inches!
Stretching this afternoon at 3 days old!
