Baby rules??

So as we are all in our 3rd trimester now what is everyone’s rules for when your in labor and when baby is born???

Answer

No visitors until I’m ready, which could be 6 hours or 6 days.  I can’t predict ahead of time how I’ll feel after and I have no intention of entertaining if I’m not feeling up to it.
Beyond that, I’m not making rules.  
My 14 year old has an immunodeficiency disorder so we already have a rule against anyone visiting that even suspects they might be ill to protect her.  Everyone that would visit baby knows that and also knows what happens when she gets ill so it doesn’t need repeating.

We kept it simple. Please dont post anything on social media about baby being born until we do so. Please call/text before showing up to visit.

1) no kids visiting us in hospital  
2) no holding baby 
3) no kissing baby 
4) everyone who wants to visit will need to be utd on necessary vaccines

We don’t have any rules. We will probably just ask people to let us know before they visit, which I would think is common courtesy anyway lol Most of my friends have babies already so I’m sure they will just follow the same guidelines I had to with their babies and that’s fine.

I don’t want any visitors besides my boyfriend being there & my mom because I am having another csection which I look at as a major surgery so heaven forbid anything would go wrong, I want my mom too be there for my SO. 
No one randomly showing up ... & definitely not posting any pictures before I can announce the birth of my child or I will be so upset.

My rules are going to be pretty simple. Don’t post about my labor or the arrival of my baby, call before you visit, wash your hands and don’t kiss the baby. 
I’m actually encouraging people to come visit at the hospital so we can have less visitors at home. I really want to get back into a normal routine with the new baby and my oldest ASAP, the more visitors that come, the more that will be disrupted.

For the birth it’s just my husband and I because my mom will stay with my other 2 kiddos while we labor. For a ‘normal’ birth, we will announce on Facebook usually while I wait for the drugs to wear off (hoping for natural birth this time though so we’ll see!) and then people usually ask if they can visit us. 
If we have a repeat of our last birth which was a NICU stay, we play it by ear depending on the severity.

I honestly don’t want any visitors besides my 12 year old daughter and my husband of course. I’m getting a c section so I just want to heal and bond with my baby in peace. I don’t want anyone announcing my child’s birth on social media before we do. I’ll let ppl know when I get home and when they can visit.

I’m definitely enforcing the call before you visit policy. I am having a scheduled c section but for my first birth I had so many people just show up while I was in intense labor and it was miserable. I also am enforcing being up to date on vaccines especially the tdap. I enforced that for my daughter when she was born two years ago so thankfully most of my family already has it. I don’t want anyone kissing the baby. Honestly, it’s your baby and your birth experience. Don’t worry about how you make others feel. Do whatever you want and whatever you feel is right.
