Thrush

Anon

I noticed my son has thrush last Thursday

It wasn’t bad so I wasn’t sure if it was thrush or milk residue and it was mainly just on the very back of his tongue

I waited a day to see if it would go away and tried to wipe his tongue

I tried to call our online care clinic for a prescription that night but they said bc he’s so young he needed to he seen in person

Friday I call his doctors office as soon as they open

And I’m playing with him when we get there

He smiles and his tongue was so much worse

And even had like a yellow tint to it with some darker spots (almost like bluish?)

My doctor confirms that it’s thrush

Sent in a script

And I’ve been giving him his meds

Doing exactly what she said

Half the dose on one side, the other half on the other side of his cheek

Taking a q tip and rubbing the medicine along his tongue and the Top of his mouth

4 times a day.

Waiting at least 30 minutes to feed him again

She said she wasn’t going to treat me unless it didn’t go away or only got worse (breast fed) because I didn’t have symptoms

It hasn’t gone away

And I’ve done everything I know to prevent it

I’ve boiled all of his pacifiers like at least every other day

He doesn’t use bottles

I barely ever wear a shirt so I barely have pads on to have to change them often

Are there any other things that I can do that I’m not thinking of?

Im going to ask my doctor at my check up today if she can prescribe me something

But I’m afraid of it getting worse
